FAQ's

Predatory mites are microscopic, beneficial arachnids that specifically combat pests like spider mites, thrips, or fungus gnat larvae – completely without chemicals.

Depending on the species, predatory mites combat pests including spider mites, thrips, fungus gnat larvae, and other sap-sucking or soil-dwelling pests.

No, predatory mites are completely harmless to humans, pets, and plants. They do not sting or bite and do not cause allergies.

Predatory mites actively search for prey, such as spider mites or larvae, and consume them. They thereby ensure natural and sustainable pest control.

Approximately 10 days after using Green Guardia predatory mites, you will already notice a significant reduction in the infestation. After another week, you should check your plants more closely: If you find more bright orange-red predatory mites on the leaves than greenish-yellow, black-spotted spider mites, the treatment has been successful.
To determine if your plants are free of mites, watch for the absence of fine webbing on the leaves and ensure the plant looks healthier overall. The absence of small, yellowish dots on the leaves is also a good sign. For thrips, you can tell the treatment was successful when no silvery suction marks or dark droppings are visible on the leaves.

Within 2 to 3 weeks, your plants will be nearly free of thrips, spider mites, mold mites, and broad mites.

Yes, especially in vulnerable areas like greenhouses or with sensitive plants, preventive use can be sensible.

For loose product, the carrier material is sprinkled directly onto the infested plants or the soil. The bag version is hung directly on the affected plants. Avoid direct sunlight during application.

Generally, one application is sufficient. In cases of severe infestation or unfavorable conditions, a follow-up treatment after 7–14 days may be useful.

When you purchase our Green Guardia predatory mites, we recommend applying the beneficial insects immediately upon arrival – ideally on the evening of the delivery day or the following morning. The predatory mites can be stored in the refrigerator at 10 °C for a maximum of one day. Ensure that you do not use any chemical plant protection products for 6 weeks prior to using the predatory mites. For long-term pest control, the application of predatory mites can be repeated if necessary. We also offer bags that can simply be hung on the plant or spread.

In the bags, there are prey animals alongside the predatory mites, so the mites often have enough food and do not leave the bag immediately. This is completely normal and not a sign that they are not active.

If the food source is lacking, predatory mites will die off after some time or migrate away. They leave no traces or damage behind.
