Predatory mites are microscopic, beneficial arachnids that specifically target pests like spider mites, thrips, whiteflies, or fungus gnat larvae – completely without chemicals.
Depending on the species, predatory mites support the natural regulation of various plant pests. The GREEN GUARDIA predatory mite trio is particularly suitable for the biological control of thrips, spider mites, and whiteflies, as these beneficial insects use the eggs, larvae, and young developmental stages of the pests as a food source.
No, predatory mites are completely harmless to humans, pets, and plants. They do not sting or bite and do not cause allergies.
Predatory mites actively search for prey, such as spider mites or larvae, and consume them. They thus provide natural and sustainable pest control.
About 10 days after using Green Guardia predatory mites, a clear reduction in the infestation can already be seen. After another week, you should check your plants more closely: If you find more bright orange-red predatory mites on the leaves than greenish-yellow, black-spotted spider mites, the control is successful.
To determine if your plants are free of mites, watch for the leaves no longer showing fine webs and the plant looking healthier overall. The absence of small, yellowish spots on the leaves is also a good sign. With thrips, you can tell the success by the fact that there are no longer any silvery feeding marks or dark droppings visible on the leaves.
Within 2 to 3 weeks, your plants will be nearly free of thrips, spider mites, and other harmful mites.
Yes, especially in high-risk areas like greenhouses or for sensitive plants, preventive use can make sense.

Additionally, it can help to gently breathe on the mites to activate them with warmth.
For bulk material, the carrier material is sprinkled directly onto the affected plants or the soil. The sachet version is hung directly on the affected plants. Avoid direct sunlight during application.
Generally, one application is sufficient. In case of heavy infestation or unfavorable conditions, a follow-up treatment after 7–14 days may be useful.
When you buy our Green Guardia predatory mites, we recommend applying the beneficial insects immediately after arrival – ideally on the evening of the delivery day or the following morning. The predatory mites can be stored in the refrigerator at 10 °C for a maximum of one day. Make sure not to use chemical plant protection products for 6 weeks before using the predatory mites. For long-term pest control, the application of predatory mites can be repeated if necessary. We also offer sachets that can simply be hung on the plant or sprinkled.
There are prey animals in the sachets along with the predatory mites, so the mites often have enough food and do not leave the bag immediately. This is completely normal and not a sign that they are not active.
If there is no food source, the predatory mites will die off after some time or migrate away. They leave no traces or damage.
